WOW!
That’s it, I could probably end the article there. That is a one word summary of how our Gen Con went. I hope you had just as much fun as we did! After a week full of crazy mishaps which lead to some last-minute saves, we were all set up on Wednesday night, ready for the doors to open on Thursday… at least… we thought we were.
You guys blew us away with support! We prepared a ton of awesome events for you, and you showed up in force to let us know that you loved every minute of it. You kept us so busy, that we forgot there were other things to see at the show!
Event Hall
We ran events all weekend long from 9am to 11pm in Event Hall H. We reached over 500 of you through these demos and had an absolute blast meeting each and every one of you!
Through the Portal
On Thursday evening we ran our seminar… which mostly consisted of Ignacy talking about the past, present, and future, intermixed with some humor, and technology failure. We had a great turnout for that event and loved connecting with everyone!
Neuroshima Hex – Grudge Match
After our seminar on Thursday, we had the Grudge Match. We pit 4 media personalities against each other in a 2 versus 2 match of Neuroshima Hex on a giant board. Sadly, due to even more technical details we were unable to record the event, but be assured, it was awesome.
Our Booth
We had this tiny booth at the back of the hall all to ourselves and, even though there were no other booths anywhere near us, we got in trouble for clogging up the hallways. That was, both hilarious, and awesome. You showed up in wave after wave of excited, and appreciative fans to our little corner of the hall. We got to meet and say thank you to thousands of fans, but we can’t say it enough.
THANK YOU!
Gen Con wouldn’t be a success without you… the fans, and the volunteers that made it happen. We had over a dozen helpers that showed up to give us some of their precious time to teach you games. We met thousands of you in our booth. We sold out of Tides of Time on Friday. We had to truck in an extra shipment of Rattle, Battle. We had an amazing time and it’s all thanks to you, the fans, who support us and everything we do.
It’s been 4 days since we left Indianapolis and the energy is still high. We were exhausted and sore, but we are also crazy excited for the future of Portal Games. Who knows what the next year will bring!?
