Eleven – delivery timeline

Hello everyone! Here’s a quick update on the project. The good news is the games have been produced.

English edition

We have them! But first let me tell you a little story… In order to make sure the games are delivered quicker we chose the train freight from Asia to Europe instead of the sea freight and… a mishap happened – on the border between China and Kazakhstan the cargo train suddenly stopped due to low visibility caused by local forest fires… Yep, that’s unlucky! Fortunately, the train eventually started operating again and reached Poland last weekend. But this delay was something we didn’t account for. On Wednesday the games (English editions) reached the European hub and we are starting to send them out today!

Other language editions

The games have been produced and loaded onto a container, which is already sitting safely on a train in China with the departure date scheduled for October 4th. The train should take 12 days to reach Poland (fingers crossed there are no problems with the visibility this time). This means the games should reach the European hub in Poland in the middle of October and we’ll start sending them out to our European backers straight away.

Detailed delivery timeline for backers in various locations

Mainland Europe:
– English editions – today we are starting to ship pledges from the European hub in Poland,
– Other language editions – we plan to start shipping pledges from the European hub in Poland in the middle of October
UK: we plan to start shipping pledges from the hub in the UK in the middle of October
Asia English and Chinese editions – we plan to start shipping pledges from the hub in China in the middle of October
Australia & New Zealand: we plan to start shipping pledges from the hub in Australia in the middle of October
USA: we plan to start shipping pledges from the hub in the USA in December

As you can see all the backers except for those in the USA should be able to play Eleven before the World Cup starts. With the American backers unfortunately the marine freight from Asia to the USA and additional inland handling takes much longer than in other regions, hence the late delivery. We are truly sorry for that.

Portal Games at Spiel’22
This week there is Spiel – the biggest board game convention in the world – taking place in Essen, Germany. Portal Games will be there with the limited pre-release of the retail edition of Eleven. We are going with a small number of copies in order to show the game to the larger public before the premiere of the retail edition which we plan towards the end of the year in Europe and early next year in the USA (after Gamefound pledges are delivered). If you are visiting Spiel come by to our booth 3-O118 and say hello – we’ll be happy to meet you!

Welcome to PORTAL GAMES

We are bookworms. Movie maniacs. Story addicts. We grew up reading Tolkien, Howard, Herbert, Dick, Lem… We were watching Willow, Blade Runner, Never Ending Story, Robin Hood…

And yet, we don’t write books… we don’t make movies. We don’t make those things, because we make games. We make games that tell stories.
