Detective: Season One – a perfect gift

Imagine yourself spending Christmas evenings with your friends, family, and a perfect board game. A board game that tells you a story. Investigation nights with the most engaging cases from the games of the Detective line can soon become a new tradition.

Detective: Season 1 is a fantastic idea for a gift, no matter if the recipient is an experienced geek or a beginner. If you like reading detective stories and watching investigative series, the game box will provide you with everything you need to become a true Detective yourself. You only need to choose one of the new investigators represented on character tiles: they’ll help you solve crimes thanks to their unique abilities.

Season One is a stand-alone game with a set of three independent cases, not a campaign. Each case consists of a deck of 72 cards each. You can sit down with your friends and choose whichever case you want. It will take you approximately 90 minutes. There are fewer cards than in the first game of the line, Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game, so you can close the case faster and move on to the summary. But very experienced players won’t complain that it’s too short or not tricky enough. Cases are not too easy. But at the same time, they have a lower entry level for the new players. In one box, we closed advantages for both: our die-hard fans and a new group of people that potentially could fall in love with the Detective series.

You can solve mysterious puzzles. Admirers of Agatha Christie’s novels will love the scenario of Blood, Ink, and Tears with action taking place in an English mansion. For those who like the gangster atmosphere, we recommend Solid Alibi. Natural Causes is an ideal case for fans of the CSI series. All of them will keep you entertained during the Holiday.

Play online with your friends by Zoom, Discord, or Skype – Season One is great for that. You can be close to your family and friends, even in pandemic times. That’s a board game out of a board game definition – the one that tells stories.

You can play solo or with a group. The more, the merrier. And the idea is to have a merry Christmas.

We hope you can help us start a new tradition by playing Detective this Christmas.

We are bookworms. Movie maniacs. Story addicts. We grew up reading Tolkien, Howard, Herbert, Dick, Lem… We were watching Willow, Blade Runner, Never Ending Story, Robin Hood…

And yet, we don’t write books… we don’t make movies. We don’t make those things, because we make games. We make games that tell stories.
