It all started with my pure fascination for Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective. I played it many times and absolutely adored the game. For the sake of the excellent story, I’d say it was after playing Sherlock when I created Detective.

This is generally an exciting wheel of time. When I designed the Detective game, I used all of my 30 years of experience in RPG games. I managed to create a board game that is very close to what RPGs are.

They came a few minutes earlier. Chris asks me for a coffee. Tony puts a bottle of wine on the table and asks where I keep glasses. Miriam rushes into my kitchen, grabs some snacks, and goes to the games room laughing. Everybody is excited. It’s a game night.

Detective is a game of hidden clues and deception. As you are playing, you are constantly confronted with a flow of information, sometimes lies, sometimes red herrings, sometimes valuable and important pieces of the plot. Without proper training, you, Detectives, may fail. But worry not. You just joined our special
