Imperial Miners: Aztecs vs Weirdlings

The first expansion to Imperial Miners introduces two enthralling new factions – the Aztecs and the Weirdlings. Each faction brings unique gameplay elements and strategies, enriching the Imperial Miners universe.

It is said that if you dig deep enough, far enough, you will eventually come out the other side. To test this, many Empires began to dig, so deep in fact that they discovered two new groups of people that had the same idea: the Aztecs, with great and mysterious stories of past eras, and the Weirdlings, who sought refuge in the depths of the earth and whose lives depend heavily on the phases of the moon. It’s time to mine among new friends and discover new underground Empires!

Order the game from our store to receive a special mini-expansion – a set of 7 Event cards expanding the deck from the base game.

Boardgames That Tell Stories 3

The third volume of the funniest collection of columns about the board game industry.

“I try not to read Ignacy’s blog” – Tom Vasel

It may not be the ultimate or the most complete guide to the board game industry and the life of a game designer. However, it is certainly the funniest of them all.

Ignacy Trzewiczek, a veteran of the industry and founder of Portal Games, invites you to the third installment of his anthology! In a series of witty columns, he takes the reader on a journey through projects, events, and challenges that make up the everyday life of a game designer. Struggles with testers? Trips to game conventions? The ups and downs of the design process? Comments on the lives of hobbyists? The intricacies of designing Detective, First Martian, and other Portal games? All this – and much more – awaits you in this book!

Boardgames That Tell Stories 3 is being published to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Portal Games.

Welcome to PORTAL GAMES

We are bookworms. Movie maniacs. Story addicts. We grew up reading Tolkien, Howard, Herbert, Dick, Lem… We were watching Willow, Blade Runner, Never Ending Story, Robin Hood…

And yet, we don’t write books… we don’t make movies. We don’t make those things, because we make games. We make games that tell stories.
