Detectives! We have very important news for you, concerning the update of the Antares Database!
Since the very beginning, since Detective was released, we were listening to your feedback concerning the game. We were looking for a word of critique, and we were happy to read every praise. We have analyzed each comment and suggestion, wondering, how we can further improve our game.
That would not have been possible if Detective wasn’t using the online component. Thanks to the Antares Database we are able to take your feedback and make it into reality. Today we would like to announce a big update for the Final Report system, and Victory Points system of the Antares Database, affecting mostly the Golden Watch campaign.
What’s changed?
Victory Points
We’ve decided to make the Victory Points system clearer to understand. You could’ve experienced those changes for some time, but now we are ready to announce it ...

What do the signatures stand for?
Signatures are different pieces of evidence – lifted fingerprints, DNA traces and material shreds of evidence. A good detective tries their best to find most of those, to support their hypothesis. It is hard to prove the craziest or even the most logical theory without the support of any evidence. Evidence that the prosecutor can later use during any future process. Evidence that our boss can present to ...

Where to start? This time I guess I need to take you to Alton in Hamshire, England. That’s where it all began. I was sitting in Asmodee UK offices meeting with their sales team and presenting Detective. It was spring 2018, a few months before the release of the game and as always I was doing my magic tricks. ‘Be careful what you wish for’ I said. He smiled. He knew what’s coming.
OK, let’s be honest. Nothing was coming. We were on our way to the hotel with Marcin, Portal Games Sales Director and my brain was working like crazy.
‘Did you hear what the guy said?’ I asked with the excitement.
‘Which guy?’
‘The guy ...

Episode 165 of the Rolling Dice & Taking Names podcast was the time for the 4th Annual Squirrelly Awards. These are the picks from 2018 that stood out during the year for RDTN. Just like the previous three years, RDTN friends were gracious enough to stop by and do the presentations and even some designers and publishers were in the audience to accept the awards. Maybe you will recognize someone from Portal Games.
There were about 17 categories, and a lot of games presented, so let us focus on games by Portal. Monolith Arena was nominated for the “Just the two of us” category, and lost to the War Chess. Congratulations! The category was presented by Danny & Derek.
Chaz Marler from Pair Of Dice Paradise YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/pairofdiceparadise) was presenting the We’re Tired of Waiting Award category. The games nominated were: Stronghold: Undead, Robinson Crusoe: Mystery Tales, and 51. State: ...
