RULES: Five Families

This expansion is really a combination of 4 expansions in one. Play with one, or play with them all! You get to decide: Family Decks, new Patrons, Birth Events, or the Daisy for solitaire play. If you’ve been waiting for more player interaction for your games of Legacy: The Testament of Duke De Crecy, it is finally here!
I have a question regarding the use of own family Asset if another player did not buy it from you with their favour tokens.
For the sake of consistency of use of own family cards, is it correct to assume the following?:
To play your family card, independent if it is an Asset or a Cousin, you always have to pay for it, where the cost is paid in money equal to the number of favours otherwise needed to acquire it by another player.
Is my interpretation correct? Because the rule book does not say it directly.
Love this game and the expansion… still looking forward to see more for this game in the future.
As far as I remember, yes. I remember that in terms of theme it was to represent that you had to invest in education of this person to become valuable asset for you.
No new matriarchs or patriarchs?
