Gliwice – June 1st, 2020. Portal Games announces an update for its 2020 publishing plans. The company is pleased to announce two new titles to be released in 2020 but regrettably informs about moving the release dates of a few titles to 2021.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and struggles in the publishing industry, Portal Games is forced to make difficult decisions and modify its publishing plan. Two games, Million Dollar Script and Vienna Connection, that were announced for this year, are rescheduled for 2021.
Moreover, Portal Games is forced to change the plans for the Year of Moloch celebrations. Due to suspending the conventions and board game clubs activities, it is impossible to run the tournaments and organize the teaching of Neuroshima Hex rules. The goal of the planned events was to select the players who would challenge the Champions of Poland in a grand tournament scheduled for the 5th of September. Portal Games is forced to cancel the convention planned for that day, which also impacts the release of previously announced five new products in the Neuroshima series, which were to premiere during that event. On September 5th, two titles will be released: a new Neuroshima Hex army and a new board game. Preorders will start on June 1st. Premieres of the remaining three games are postponed. On September 5th Portal Games will organize a special online convention for Neuroshima fans. During that event, we will provide details concerning the Year of Moloch celebrations and premieres of other products.
Release dates of other previously announced products remain unchanged:
▪ Detective: Signature Series – Dig Deeper will be released in June 2020,
▪ Imperial Settlers: Rise of the Empire is coming out in July 2020,
▪ Empires of the North: Barbarian Hordes will have its premiere in August 2020,
▪ Detective: Season One is coming in September 2020.
New titles announced for 2020
Neuroshima Hex 3.0: Troglodytes
In the 3rd quarter of 2020, a new expansion to Neuroshima Hex 3.0 will be released. The Troglodytes army comes with a big amount of fighting units and Battle tiles. Troglodytes easily adapt to the situation on the board. By cannibalizing their own units, they earn Satiety markers. Those with Greater Satiety can inflict more wounds, are faster, more mobile, and resistant. On the other hand, sacrificing their own units depletes their numbers and limits their ability to initiate a Battle by occupying an entire board.
Monolith Arena: Golems
Another product to be released in the 3rd quarter of 2020 is the new expansion Monolith Arena: Golems. The new faction will allow players to take on the role of Constructors and create their mighty Golems on the arena. Golems excel at strength and toughness but are limited by their building process. Playing as Golems introduces a new mechanic represented by two-sided champions’ tiles – Golems get damaged instead of getting wounded and can be raised back by their Constructors.
