Batman: Everybody Lies – review by Our Family Plays Games

Batman: Everybody Lies is a campaign game. The three Episodes in the box are connected by one overall narrative, following a chain of events that unfold over a few months within Gotham City.

And every decision you make may have lasting consequences. Chase the wrong leads and some characters you meet in the first Episode might be in jail by the second Episode, perhaps even on the run in the third!

While playing, you might also find clues that seem unconnected to the current Case, but not all are dead ends. Sometimes, these are clues you will need to solve mysteries in upcoming Episodes. So don’t be discouraged if the story takes an unexpected turn or you don’t understand the significance of a clue at first. Maybe that twist or tidbit will soon become crucial…

We are bookworms. Movie maniacs. Story addicts. We grew up reading Tolkien, Howard, Herbert, Dick, Lem… We were watching Willow, Blade Runner, Never Ending Story, Robin Hood…

And yet, we don’t write books… we don’t make movies. We don’t make those things, because we make games. We make games that tell stories.
