    Title – Wastage

Fluff- “Didn’t we just replace that yesterday?”

Rule – Lax record keeping and maintenance accelerate the use of spares. Rule- Total all spare parts available, then draw a Research Card. The percentage on the card is the percentage of total spare parts rounded down random spare parts you lose. E.g. if you have 6 spare parts available and draw 30% you lose 2 random spares.

    Title – Efficient Reuse/Recycling

Fluff- “Square filter in a round hole? I think I can come up with something that will work.”

Rule- Total all spare parts available, then draw a Research Card. The percentage on the card is the percentage of total spare parts rounded up additional random spare parts you gain. E.g. if you have 6 spare parts available and draw 30% you gain, 2 additional random spares.

    Future Consequences – none

    Title – Fascinating Sample

Fluff- “Have you seen the samples that just came off the rover?! This could change everything! ”

Rule – An extremely interesting sample with extraordinary implications has been recovered, draw a random research card, the number on the bottom is the number of pawns that must be assigned to the event to fulfill it.

Future Consequences- If the number of pawns assigned to the event equals the card draw: Exciting possibilities! A completed report is sent to MCEI, the results could be astounding! Morale goes up by 2, all participants gain 6 Morale Tokens.

If no pawns assigned: Missed Opportunities. The sample had deteriorated by the time it came around for analysis, morale goes down by 1 and discard 2 samples from available cargo bay.

Title: Launch with M.O.M. (Mars Orbiter Mission)

Fluff: Earth wants to send in a supply of everything necessary to launch an orbital probe in the hopes of finding useful minerals on the surface and to study the Martian atmosphere for future terraforming plans.

Rules: This is a three part mission. Firstly, is an Explore & Gather mission, collecting the supply drops from the surface.

Secondly, build the necessary upgrades, Research, Gather, and Power. As well as, building the launch facility (Temporary Base, aka Probe on the Loose). The supply drops will provide all the spare parts for this to happen.

Thirdly, Using the the Server Cluster and oxygen from supply drop, fast tracks the fuel for the rocket/satellite. 100% converted mixture into fuel using the research cards. After the fuel conversion is complete to launch the rocket into orbit roll your all three (3) of the malfunction dices if the total of the dice is 5 of greater the rocket/satellite successfully launches. Next, roll the same amount of malfunction dice, roll 4 or greater and the satellite is in Mars orbit and communicating with the HUB.

Select one research card from the shuffled deck of six (6), and refer to the table below.

1 – Discover unknown minerals on the surface
2 – Successfully analyze the atmosphere for future Terraforming missions
3 – Complete topographical photos of Mars for future colonization
4 – Partial completion of atmospheric analysis – more time required
5 – After a short orbit satellite stops sending data – FAILURE
6 – On board camera functioning at a lower resolution creating flawed data

Future consequence: With the new found data from M.O.M. the astronauts are able pinpoint a newly discovered deposits of minerals to research for future breakthroughs.
